  A publication of the Field Geology Club of South Australia, Inc., 1st Edition 1986, edited by Pam Hasendor and David Corbett with illustrations by Jacqueline Galazowski and Frances Taylor. A booklet of ca 100 pages, with 50 photographs and 25 maps and figures written by 10 geologist club members explaining in detail the geological features of the coastline adjacent to Adelaide, from Port Gawler through Brighton, Onkaparinga River, Sellicks Beach, Normanville, Cape Jervis to Victor Harbour and Port Elliot. A must for hikers, naturalists and beachcombers.

  A FIELD GUIDE TO THE GEOLOGY OF YORKE PENINSULA (near Adelaide, South Australia)
  

  A publication of the Field Geology Club of South Australia, Inc, 2nd Edition 1997, edited by Robin Giesecke, written and revised by over 20 geologist club members.

  A booklet of 67 pages with 16 photographs, 13 figures, 4 area maps and many little sketches. The Yorke Peninsula lies between Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent, extending from the mining town of Moonta to Stenhouse Bay at the southern most part.

  The European settlement is described and the subsequent development of agriculture, copper mining and deposits of salt, gypsum, cement rock and dolomite. The geological history covers Plate Tectonics, Basement Rocks, Sedimentation, Glaciation etc up to the present day. Fossils described included the primitive archeocyathids, trilobites, stromatolites, bryozoa and many others. This is an excellent field guide to a fascinating area close to Adelaide.

  A publication of the Field Geology Club of South Australia, Inc, 1st Edition 1999, edited by Robin Giesecke, Illustrator R. Whatmough with photography by R.Major, R. Whatmough and R. Giesecke.

  A booklet of 63 pages with 26 colour photographs, 28 figures and tables. The Hallet Cove Conservation Park is world-famous for its evidence of ancient glaciations and is easily accessible by Metro train from central Adelaide.

  Three glacial periods (Ice Ages) have moulded the South Australian landscape. The first ocurred 750 million years ago (Sturtian), the second during Permian Times (ca 280 million years ago) and the last or Great Ice Age which peaked 18,000 years ago. The Hallet Cove region shows evidence of all three glaciations, especially in the Permian when Australia was part of the supercontinent called "Gondwanaland" and existed close to the South Pole. Evidence exists in the form of striated pavements, till, erratics and roche moutonnée. An essential field guide for the area.
